FAQs

  • If you're wondering whether your private insurance will cover your medical flight for life-saving treatment, Life Jet is here to help. We manage the logistics of your entire trip and handle your insurance claim from start to finish. Our knowledgeable insurance specialists will assist in determining the likelihood of your benefits being paid and will track, file, and manage your insurance claim until it's fully processed.

  • While some health insurance policies cover medevac or air ambulance flights, restrictions and limitations often apply, with many only covering domestic incidents. Travel insurance or travel health insurance may provide medevac flight coverage both domestically and abroad, but it's essential to check the terms. If you still have questions, contact LifeJet and we’ll be happy to assist.

  • Life Jet does not offer insurance plans. If you wish to modify or cancel a medical air transportation insurance plan, please contact the original insurance provider.

  • Determining if an air ambulance is deemed "medically necessary" is a crucial factor in the insurance approval process. Medical Necessity is defined as healthcare or services provided by a prudent physician to prevent, diagnose, or treat an illness, injury, disease, or its symptoms in accordance with accepted medical standards. It must be clinically appropriate and not primarily for economic benefit. It must also be for a higher level of care. Our insurance specialists at Life Jet navigate insurance complexities to confirm your coverage, determine benefit likelihood, and oversee the entire process.

  • While a letter of Medical Necessity is valuable, benefit contracts often grant discretion to the insurance company's Medical Director. Even if your doctor recommends a procedure, the insurance company's doctor may disagree. In such cases, our insurance specialists tirelessly pursue payment, ensuring you can focus on your loved one without insurance-related distractions. At Life Jet, we see the process through to the end.
